How do we grow the funds invested?

The Board of Directors ensures that funds are invested effectively and accountably.

Funds given to the Foundation's Trust are pooled and invested. The income from the Trust is distributed to charities through the annual grants program, leaving the original donation as a perpetual investment to receive an income stream.

Money in the Projects Fund is also invested, with the income from that investment distributed to charities as part of the grants program.

Consistent with the Trustee Act 1925 (NSW), the Trustee exercises a power of investment with, at a minimum, the care, diligence and skill that a prudent person would exercise in managing the affairs of other persons. At least once a year, a trustee must review the performance of trust investments. In making an investment the trustees must have regard to a number of matters including the desirability of diversifying trust investments.

Donations are invested through a locally based professional financial planning firm.  The Trustee reviews investment decisions annually.
